In the land of shadow, civilization dangles by a fraying thread. But a flicker of hope survives.

It’s an age of madness. Centuries ago, the Deceiver broke the bonds of existence, separating the world of Tatileso from the True Gods who gave it life and the Outsiders who gave it free will. The heavens burned, earthquakes leveled cities, and chaos from the sky wiped out civilizations; all while the Deceiver’s handmaidens dragged the battered world into darkness. From the ashes came the Murk, an incomprehensible land of shadow that terrorizes the world’s survivors with the powers of undeath.  Arcane, divine, and natural powers clash against one another as mortal and supernatural beings fight for survival or to subject all around them, leaving destruction and cataclysmic upheaval in their wake.

Flickers of hope remain, however, their light holding absolute disaster at bay.  Heroes rise, and some fall, but always they represent what can be if light fights the dark.  In the Realm of the Southern Vale, new heroes take up the mantle.  Against hostile forces, nefarious agendas, and strong odds, they fight the battles no one else can.  Now, they stand as torch bearers in the centuries old night, giving hope to the nearly lost.  Now, they stand at the precipice of becoming legends.
